FAQ

The freight forwarder is an intermediary used by buyers or sellers to optimally organize the transfer of goods from the point of production to the point of consumption. Although the freight forwarder does not transport, its knowledge about the transporters and other providers of the logistics process allows it to choose the ideal ones for the benefit of all those involved in the transportation process.

The term project cargo is used to describe the international movement of bulky shipments in quantity, weight or oversized; they are usually related to civil works, such as construction of bridges and roads, and transport terminals. The shipment of complete fleets of private or cargo vehicles and specific materials for works such as steel articles (sheets, rods, etc.) is also considered a project.

If we define a logistics operation as the process of carrying a load from the point of production to the point of consumption, the stages would be:

1. Collection at the point of production.

2. Local transportation in the country of origin (from the factory to the transporter international).

3. Export procedures before local authorities.

4. Charge the international transporter.

5. Receipt from the international transporter at destination.

6. Import procedures.

7. Local transport at destination.

8. Delivery to the recipient.

Although the aforementioned points cover a large extension of the logistics process, there are some such as packaging in the international transport unit, unpacking at destination and others in which the freight forwarder intervenes to facilitate the process.

There is no maximum weight or volume that can be transported; transportation engineers are always creating new vehicles to make it easier to move and handle oversized parts; There are also carriers in the international market specialized in oversized and extra-heavy loads that operate exclusive equipment, including trucks and their attachments, airplanes and ships only for this type of load. In any case, it is important to take into account that if there are resistance limits in the materials in which these vehicles are built in terms of weight and obviously the volume is determined by the maneuverability within the vehicle to accommodate the load.

The different contribution of EIF to the international cargo transport business lies in its personalized service, in the permanent monitoring of shipments, in the professionalism and knowledge of all the members of its team, but above all, in its great experience in the management and efficient execution of oversized loads transportation and project cargo , turning customer expectations into successful experiences.
